Cranks and Coffee backs new solar power with The 0-Mission

Through its partnership with The 0-Mission, Cranks and Coffee supports solar electricity generation for the Danish grid from a solar park in Norddjurs municipality. By participating, companies like Cranks and Coffee contribute to expanding solar capacity in Denmark. The solar park developer has implemented measures to address human rights risks across the value chain, and the park is designed to promote local biodiversity. Together with other Danish companies, Cranks and Coffee helps accelerate the green transition.

Through the partnership with The 0-Mission, Cranks and Coffee contributes to the generation of renewable power from a solar park in Norddjurs municipality. Together with other Danish companies, Cranks and Coffee drives the development of new renewable energy capacity in Denmark while supporting improvements to local habitats and biodiversity. The park’s developer has also implemented extensive measures to prevent human rights violations throughout the solar park’s value chain. Through this collaboration, Cranks and Coffee is actively accelerating the green transition.

The Partnership in Short

At COP28, 117 countries signed an agreement to triple renewable energy production by 2030. Achieving this goal requires the participation of everyone. Cranks and Coffee contributes to the expansion of solar-based electricity in Denmark.

During COP28 117 countries agreed to triple production of renewable energy before 2030. To achieve this goal we need each and every company to contribute. Cranks and Coffee supports the construction of more renewable energy in Denmark by partnering up with The 0-Mission.

35 m solar panels

Electricity in the grid is shared. Its origin cannot be chosen at the socket. However, Cranks and Coffee contributes approximately 20 MWh of additional solar electricity to the grid each year, generated by 35 m of solar panels.

9 tons CO2e.

Electricity from the solar park in Norddjurs helps Cranks and Coffee avoid approximately 9 tons of CO₂e, roughly equivalent to 17 round-trip flights from Copenhagen to Madrid.

To achieve our shared climate goals, all companies must contribute to the green transition. Through The 0-Mission, Cranks and Coffee helps create a business case for 100% privately financed solar-based electricity.

Biodiversity

Between the solar panels, there are habitats for bees, insects, and flowers. A wildlife corridor and beetle mound have been established, and the park is surrounded by 3.85 km of living hedges, which over time will help "hide" the park from neighboring areas.

30 m solar panels

Nobody can decide the color of the power in their sockets. Black and green power is always mixed in grids. However, Cranks and Coffee contributes to feeding approximately 10 MWh into the grid. 30 m solar panels produces the power.

7 tonnes of CO2e

Via production of power in solar park Ingerslev Å in Norddjurs, Cranks and Coffee avoids approximately 7 tonnes of CO2e , which roughly corresponds to 14 Return flights from Copenhagen to Madrid

privately financed solar park

To limit climate change all companies must empower the green transition. Via The 0-Mission Cranks and Coffee contributes to a business case for 100% privately financed power based on solar energy.

Biodiversity

Between the panels bees, insects and flowers are thriving. A beetlebank was created and areas of tossock grassland and shrups was planted around a pond. Native planting belts will over time provide a visual screen for neighboors.

Cranks & Coffee is a Copenhagen based place dedicated to cyclists and the culture of cycling. Through the partnership with The 0-Mission, Cranks and Coffee contribute to the accelleration of renewable energy in Denmark.
