Carl Ras backs new solar power with The 0-Mission

Through its partnership with The 0-Mission, Carl Ras supports solar electricity generation for the Danish grid from a solar park in Norddjurs municipality. By participating, companies like Carl Ras contribute to expanding solar capacity in Denmark. The solar park developer has implemented measures to address human rights risks across the value chain, and the park is designed to promote local biodiversity. Together with other Danish companies, Carl Ras helps accelerate the green transition.

Through the partnership with The 0-Mission, Carl Ras contributes to the generation of renewable power from a solar park in Norddjurs municipality. Together with other Danish companies, Carl Ras drives the development of new renewable energy capacity in Denmark while supporting improvements to local habitats and biodiversity. The park’s developer has also implemented extensive measures to prevent human rights violations throughout the solar park’s value chain. Through this collaboration, Carl Ras is actively accelerating the green transition.

At COP28, 117 countries signed an agreement to triple renewable energy production by 2030. Achieving this goal requires the participation of everyone. Carl Ras contributes to the expansion of solar-based electricity in Denmark.

During COP28 117 countries agreed to triple production of renewable energy before 2030. To achieve this goal we need each and every company to contribute. Carl Ras supports the construction of more renewable energy in Denmark by partnering up with The 0-Mission.

2.0 km solar panels

Electricity in the grid is shared. Its origin cannot be chosen at the socket. However, Carl Ras contributes approximately 1100 MWh of additional solar electricity to the grid each year, generated by 2.0 km of solar panels.

495 tons CO2e.

Electricity from the solar park in Norddjurs helps Carl Ras avoid approximately 495 tons of CO₂e, roughly equivalent to 946 round-trip flights from Copenhagen to Madrid.

Biodiversity

Between the solar panels, there are habitats for bees, insects, and flowers. A wildlife corridor and beetle mound have been established, and the park is surrounded by 3.85 km of living hedges, which over time will help "hide" the park from neighboring areas.

2 km solar panels

Nobody can decide the color of the power in their sockets. Black and green power is always mixed in grids. However, Carl Ras contributes to feeding approximately 1.1 GWh into the grid. 2 km solar panels produces the power.

495 tonnes of CO2e

Via production of power in solar park Ingerslev Å in Norddjurs, Carl Ras avoids approximately 495 tonnes of CO2e , which roughly corresponds to 941 Return flights from Copenhagen to Madrid

To limit climate change all companies must empower the green transition. Via The 0-Mission Carl Ras contributes to a business case for 100% privately financed power based on solar energy.

Biodiversity

Between the panels bees, insects and flowers are thriving. A beetlebank was created and areas of tossock grassland and shrups was planted around a pond. Native planting belts will over time provide a visual screen for neighboors.

Carl Ras is a family-owned wholesale company that has existed since 1932. Today, it is one of the country’s largest suppliers of tools, fittings, and workwear to the construction and industrial sectors. Carl Ras also includes the tool suppliers Engros Beslag, 3Aktive, Jydsk Værktøj, and Nordjydsk Værktøjssalg, and owns 20% of the sustainable hardware stores Havnens Hænder and Genbyg. Together, they operate 28 wholesale centers across the country. With a focus on the future and the green transition, Carl Ras is entering a partnership with The 0-Mission in 2025 to contribute to the development of renewable energy in Denmark.
